Don’t expect any reply. I wrote emails to every main broadcast in Korea in 2009 asking whether they have any plans to air dramas in Europe. No one replied.

As we all say – we can’t buy unknown drama/music. We just can’t, it’s against human logic. You don’t know if you like the cookie unless you taste them. If you do – you buy more. Why this is so hard to understand for those blockheads?

I’ve heard when it comes to movies (from Japan at least) they try to charge distributors abroad a lot for licensing, so it could possibly be the same for tv shows……Maybe tv channels abroad have attempted to purchase Japanese or Korean tv shows but have been put off by licensing prices.

Korea and Japan share tv shows and have also begun doing some crossover tv shows featuring actors and actresses from each others countries so I think it’s only a matter of time before they start going further afield.

I think legitimate streaming will be the way to go in the future anyway, it’s already happening with sites like dramafever and crunchyroll, but we’ll have to wait for these tv stations to embrace the internet and use it (with fair pricing!)

Thank you for commenting and reading the story.
Personally I stumbled upon Walls & Roads by Sheryl in the fall of 1998, at that time I had just lost my dear grandmother. I somehow found comfort in the stories.
The main reason I host these stories are because they’re so very well written and brings up such an important subject.

I’m not sure how I ended up here the other day, but during that visit I ended up reading all of “Walls” and the first 16 chapters of “Roads”, and since then I’ve also read chapters 17-20 as they’ve been posted. So just wanted to let you know that I’m reading and enjoying this story very much! More chapters soon, please!

Hi from an Old Chick in the US! I stumbled across your blog via Drama Addicts and I just wanted to say you sound like a really neat person! I don’t think we have much in common…I do love Gackt, adore Ayu and like X Japan (and think hide was an amazing and under-appreciated genius) and I was a Twin Peaks maniac back when it was originally on here in the States…but I think I always get impressed more by people I do not have similarities to. Maybe a kind of confirmation that there are so many interesting and cool people in the world that as long as I am willing to look outside of myself they are there and life is better.

I like how you express yourself, I often feel like a stranger to the human race. I was born in one country, lived my childhood in another and finished school in yet another and none of them feel like home, none where I fit in.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you that you gave me hope and brightened my day. Wishing you much joy, wisdom and growth!
