Osaki “Akko” Yoko, manager of Yoshikan High School’s baseball team in the Oita Prefecture was diagnosed with advanced caner in June of 2007. The same summer the team made it to Koshien baseball tournament and were among the top 8.
In 2008 Yoko choses to stop her cancer treatment and decided to spend her last summer with the school’s baseball team. Later that fall she passed away.
