Time
Goes On

~ PROLOGUE ~
It's kinda funny that I sit here now wanting more than
anything for the story to be told how it actually happened. He's not here to tell his side
of the story. He can't answer the questions. I'm not even sure he'd want to. I just know
that the stories and answers that have been made up are starting to take their toll. I
know now is the time for the truth to be told and whatever any of you may think of me or
him afterwards is your choice to make. I do, however, ask that you try to remember him as
you knew him. His kindness, his ability to make everyone laugh, his music... Oh that
music.
I try not to think about the bad times anymore. I still hear people talking about him.
Little things remind me of him. I've somehow managed to get through it one day at a time
and just as he promised, things have gotten easier as time has gone by. I don't remember
when it was that I decided to finally write this but I think if anything, it was when I
woke up that afternoon. The room had been cold and it didn't take long for me to realize
where I was... in the hospital. I still find that amusing; both times I'd been in there
was because of him. The first time was because of his kindness and care about a stranger.
The second time was because of his loneliness, stress, fear and anger that he took out on
the girl he knew so well. I think I'm getting ahead of myself. Sorry. The real story
started when we met. You know what they say, it's always best to start at the beginning...
