Thoughts on YOHIO

YOHIO: Melodifestivalen 2013 in Karlskrona
YOHIO (ヨヒオ) made it to the final from Melodifestivalen in Karlskrona with his song Heartbreak Hotel. In the upcoming competition it will be decided who will represent Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest 2013. (He ended 2nd place, but the majority of votes from the Swedish people.)

Even though I’m not a fan of him, I think what YOHIO’ve done is very impressive.
Being a fan of Japanese popular culture, he has learned Japanese all by himself from a very young age, coming from a town in northern Sweden where everyone knows each other, and without caring of what others think doing his own thing. He comes from a musical family and have from age 15 been in the entertainment industry.

Just because you don’t like someone’s music, how they look or dress, or their attitude, doesn’t mean you have to shout it out to the whole world, saying things like “I don’t like him,” “He’s gay,” (which he has said he’s not) or “He’s a girl” (he’s not that either), those two lines are such old jokes. Heard them several times when Hanson had their breakthrough.

Try being happy for others when they succeed in life.
Wishing him good luck in the future!
